Sarah Madden

MS ACNP-BC

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lander University in 2010, beginning her healthcare career as an ICU nurse. She went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2015 and has maintained certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner since that time. Prior to joining Columbia Nephrology in 2021, she gained experience in Pulmonary and Gastroenterology care.

Sarah has been providing patient care as a Nurse Practitioner since 2015 and has been part of the Columbia Nephrology team since 2021. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students, helping train the next generation of healthcare providers. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the National Kidney Foundation.

Sarah has participated in clinical research trials focused on complications of diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. Her clinical interests include proactive strategies to slow the progression of kidney disease, home dialysis modalities, and palliative kidney care.

Sarah resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband and three children. She enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and kayaking.
