Dr. Marcono Hines Jr.
Dr. Hines earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro in 2001. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Biology at North Carolina Central University in Durham in 2003, followed by his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2007. He completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship at Duke University, finishing in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Dr. Hines is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
As a nephrologist, Dr. Hines is passionate about helping patients manage kidney disease with clarity, compassion, and individualized care. He currently serves as the medical director of Columbia Nephrology’s home therapies program and is a member of the practice’s board. His leadership reflects his dedication not only to patient care but also to advancing treatment options and accessibility for those living with chronic kidney conditions.
Outside of work, Dr. Hines enjoys traveling, staying active through exercise, and spending quality time with his family.
